Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium
The Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium is an international, non-profit group dedicated to providing professional continuing education to speech-language pathologists about how to use the Lidcombe Program. The Consortium provides a high standard of instruction, with internationally standardised methods and materials.
The focus of Consortium training is development of Lidcombe Program treatment skills, ranging from introductory to advanced. Drawing on the scientific evidence base for the Lidcombe Program, Consortium training links clinical practice with current clinical research.
Wendy Lloyd is a speech pathologist at the Stuttering Unit, a unit within the South Western Sydney Local Health District. She assesses and treats children, adolescents, and adults who stutter. She provides clinical guidance to other speech pathologists within the Stuttering Unit, and to external speech pathologists through clinical consultations. Wendy participates in quality projects and research regarding stuttering and stuttering treatment. She has contributed to papers published in scientific journals or conference proceedings. Wendy is a member of the Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium.
Anna is a speech pathologist who has focused on stuttering for more than 20 years as a clinician, teacher, and researcher. Her particular interests are the treatment of school-age children and adolescents who stutter. Anna is involved in the development of the internet Lidcombe Program at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre. In addition to providing clinical services at the ASRC, Anna is a clinical mentor to our speech pathologists. Anna is a member of the Lidcombe Program and Camperdown Program Trainers Consortium, and she presents workshops to speech pathologists locally and internationally.
Brenda Carey is a speech pathologist. She treats children, adolescents, and adults who stutter. She has research interests in telepractice and in postgraduate education about stuttering for speech pathologists. Brenda has published in professional journals and presented her research at international conferences. She is a member of the Camperdown Program Trainers Consortium, the Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium, and the Continuing Professional Education in Stuttering Consortium. She has presented workshops on stuttering treatment throughout Australia and in Japan, Canada, Singapore, and Israel
Elisabeth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics, and Deputy Course Director of the Master of Speech and Language Pathology. Her research interests are in communication disorders that impair speech fluency, and the development of efficacious interventions for them.
Mark is a speech pathologist. He is the Foundation Director of the Australian Stuttering Research Centre. His research interests are the epidemiology of early stuttering, mental health of those who stutter, measurement of stuttering, and the nature and treatment of stuttering. Mark is a member of the international Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium and is in constant demand as a speaker internationally. He has authored more than 200 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals. He has published six books and 37 book chapters. Mark was joint recipient of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association Kawana Award for Lifetime Achievement in Publication.
Stacey Sheedy is a speech pathologist who works at the Stuttering Unit in Bankstown, a unit within the South Western Sydney Local Health District and works in private practice. She treats children, adolescents, and adults who stutter and provides clinical guidance to other speech pathologists both within the Stuttering Unit team and through clinical consultations and mentoring. Stacey has published in scientific journals and has presented her research at international conferences. She is a member of the Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium and the Continuing Professional Development in Stuttering Consortium. Stacey has presented workshops on stuttering treatment nationally.
Kylie Smith is a speech pathologist who works with people who stutter across the lifespan. She has held roles as a clinician, researcher, and lecturer in several leading stuttering services, including the Bankstown Stuttering Unit, the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the University of Melbourne. Kylie’s area of interest include the social and emotional impacts of stuttering, and anxiety among people who stutter. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences, including the Oxford Dysfluency Conference. Kylie currently runs a private practice based in Melbourne.
Verity MacMillan is a speech pathologist who works at the Stuttering Unit in Bankstown, a unit within South Western Sydney Local Health District. She is a long standing colleague of staff at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre. She treats children, adolescents, and adults who stutter and provides clinical guidance to speech pathologists within and outside the Stuttering Unit team. Verity has published research in scientific journals and presented her research at international conferences. She is a member of the Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium and the Continuing Professional Education in Stuttering Consortium.
Thomas Law is an assistant professor and chief of the Division of Speech Therapy at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has over 20 years of experience in treating children and adults who stutter and has applied the Lidcombe Program for English, Cantonese, and Mandarin-speaking children in Australia, Hong Kong, and China. Thomas teaches courses on fluency disorders at various universities in Hong Kong and regularly speaks at professional development events focused on stuttering in Greater China. In 2025, he introduced the Lidcombe Program to Mainland China. Thomas received his PhD from the Australian Stuttering Research Centre at the University of Sydney, where his research examined the topography and linguistic characteristics of stuttering.

Valerie is a registered speech and language therapist in Singapore and an Associate Professor in the speech and language therapy program, Singapore Institute of Technology. She has over 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals who stutter of all ages. Valerie completed her PhD at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, and her research focuses on the assessment and treatment of bilinguals who stutter. She holds ongoing research grants and has publications in scientific journals and textbooks. Valerie teaches stuttering and continues to mentor students and speech therapists in Singapore and region.
Sabine Van Eerdenbrugh trained as a speech pathologist in Belgium. She completed her PhD at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, The University of Sydney. Her research project covered the development of an Internet version of the Lidcombe Program, and the development of a problem-solving tool for parents who do the Lidcombe Program. Sabine has treated children with communication disorders in several contexts for many years, including private practice and schools. At the moment, Sabine works as a researcher and a lecturer at the Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Antwerp.
Véronique Aumont Boucand is a speech therapist and vice-president of the French Stuttering Association: Association Parole Bégaiement. She is a member of the Lidcombe consortium and the Camperdown consortium. She provides training for speech therapists on these two programs. Every summer, she runs an intensive course for teenagers and adults who stutter. She has published three books on stuttering for speech therapists, one for the general public and numerous articles.
Gabrielle has more than 20 years experience with the Lidcombe Programme. She introduced the treatment to Israel, having organised and presented three workshops there. She also teaches Lidcombe Program basics to masters students at Tel Aviv University, and to specialist postgraduate speech and language therapists at at Tel Hashomer Hospital and Kiriat Uno College, Tel Aviv. Gabrielle manages a successful private practice.
Corinne has been working as a speech-language pathologist since 1988 and chose to specialise in stuttering early on in her career. She has worked with children and adults who stutter in a range of settings in London. Corinne is currently the clinical lead for the Children’s Community Speech and Language Therapy Service in Tower Hamlets,East London. She works as a clinical tutor for the undergraduate training course at City University and as a speech-language pathologist with adults who stutter at City Lit, which is a national specialist centre for stuttering. She received Lidcombe Program training in 2000 and has gained considerable experience in using it with bilingual children and parents.
Rosalee Shenker has specialized in stuttering for over 40 years, choosing during the past 20 years to focus on treatment of children and their families. She is the Founder of the Montreal Fluency Centre, and Adjunct Professor at McGill University, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, where she taught the graduate course in Stuttering for several years. As a founding member of the Lidcombe Program Training Consortium, she coordinates clinical training in North America and has provided presentations, workshops and mentoring to over 2,000 clinicians in North America and Internationally. Rosalee has presented to national and international audiences, published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters on stuttering to various textbooks. Her most recent work involves the assessment and treatment of bilingual children who stutter.
Gissella is a passionate speech-language pathologist who works in English, French and Spanish. Gissella’s approach is rooted in several different methodologies – she works from the Lidcombe and Camperdown program programs, is trained in Level 1 CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and is certified in Solution-Focussed Therapy. In addition to her clinical practice, Gissella provides continuing education for speech-language professionals through Lidcombe Program workshops and other fluency-related workshops and has co-authored peer-reviewed articles pertaining to stuttering assessment and treatment.
